MinPlace review of Planet Zoo 2. Filed under Simulation, Strategy. Editor rating 8/10.

Players construct and manage elaborate zoo complexes around the world, designing habitats for land-dwelling, flying, and fully aquatic animals while balancing guest flow, animal welfare, and financial demands. Review

The core loop alternates between precise habitat sculpting-adjusting terrain, foliage, and water depth for species-specific needs-and continuous oversight of veterinary schedules, breeding programs, and guest amenities. Once animals are prepared for release, the focus shifts to reserve logistics: tagging herds, monitoring migration paths, and intervening when populations stray too close to poaching zones. Visually, the game renders individual feathers, scale patterns, and water caustics at close zoom, then widens to sweeping vistas of savanna and reef. Audio shifts accordingly, layering keeper radios and distant tram bells inside the zoo with wind, insects, and herd rumblings once animals roam free. The simulation suits methodical planners who enjoy juggling dozens of overlapping timers and budgets; players uninterested in micro-managing nutrition charts or fence grades will likely feel overwhelmed by the detail required.
