Someone got to play chef in a friend's pizza kitchen and came up with a surprising combo: pepperoni, fresh jalapeños, and dollops of ricotta. The friend was skeptical about the ricotta at first, but one taste changed his mind—now it's on the menu! Have you ever tried a pizza topping that sounded weird but turned out amazing?

Aaron Sorkin shares his worry that some directing skills might be impossible to learn 📽️. He says working with great directors taught him a lot, but he was surprised by how little he knew about camera work. A few favourites from the original thread: • Don’t settle for someone who makes you feel like you have to shrink yourself to fit into their life. • Pay attention to how a person treats people they don’t have to be nice to, like waitstaff or strangers. Someone shared that they put on a new outfit and cologne, feeling really sharp and confident. They planned to run a few errands, then visit a friend, and later head to their grandparents' place to cook them dinner. They admitted they might be a bit overdressed for all that, but figured it's fine — you never know who you'll run into, and first impressions count. It's a sweet reminder that dressing up a little can make even a simple day feel special. Do you ever dress up just for the fun of it, even when you don't have a big plan?

The Oscar campaign for 'The Odyssey' is finalizing its acting category submissions, and a few big names won't be included. Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Elliot Page, and Jon Bernthal are not being pushed for nominations this time. That leaves room for other cast members to shine in the race. Are you surprised by any of these omissions?

Valve just dropped a surprise update for Half-Life: Alyx on PC, adding foveated rendering to boost performance. 🎮

According to RoastedGames, the new setting lives under Advanced Performance in the menu. When enabled, it reduces visual detail at the edges of your view, so the GPU focuses power on the center of the screen. This works with Nvidia GTX 16-series or RTX 20-series and newer, while AMD users need to add the -vulkan flag.

What's the wildest excuse for being late that actually turned out to be 100% true?

A few favourites from the original thread:
• Someone was late because their neighbour's runaway trampoline landed on their car, and the car was stuck until the fire brigade lifted it off.
• Another person said they were late because a flock of birds decided to block the road, and it took a while to shoo them away.
