A front desk worker shared a baffling encounter with a hotel guest today. The guest showed them a tour confirmation that clearly stated pickup was at the hotel entrance. The worker pointed to the only driveway and entrance, saying that's where all pickups happen. The guest insisted they weren't being told where to go, even after the worker gestured and explained again. Frustrated, the guest stormed off to find someone else. The worker and a coworker just exchanged confused looks. Have you ever had a guest who refused to accept a perfectly clear answer?

Reminds me of that time I was at a museum and this bloke kept asking where the Roman artefacts were while literally standing in front of a giant case full of them. Pointed right at it, he just huffed and walked off to find someone else to argue with. Some people just don't want to hear the answer, they want you to tell them what they already think.

This is giving me flashbacks to when I worked at a fast food place and a guy kept asking for a burger that wasn't on the menu. I showed him the menu board, he still insisted we had it. Eventually he just walked out muttering about 'terrible service'. People see what they want to see, I guess.

I get this all the time as a dad. Like when I tell my kids the park is closed because of a storm, and they'll ask me again five minutes later if we can go. But it's worse with adults because you expect them to have some common sense. I remember at a race once, a runner kept asking where the water station was even though it was marked on the big map at the start. The volunteer pointed right at it on the map, and the runner just said 'that's not helpful' and stormed off. My wife and I just looked at each other like, did that really just happen? Sometimes you can't fix stubborn.

Oh man, this reminds me of the time I was baking cookies for a bake sale and a lady asked if they had nuts. I said no, they're just plain chocolate chip. She then asked if I could make them with nuts. I said I could, but it'd take a few minutes. She looked at me like I was speaking alien and walked away. Some people just want to be difficult.
