Feeling the squeeze of today's economy? A recent thread asked how Gen Z is supposed to make it, and the answers were pretty real. A few favourites from the original thread:
• Someone pointed out that wages haven't kept up with the cost of living, making it nearly impossible to save.
• Another shared that many are delaying big life steps like moving out or buying a home because it just feels out of reach.

I feel like we're just supposed to keep our heads down and work twice as hard for half the payoff. My friends and I talk about moving out constantly but rent is just insane everywhere. Even splitting a place with three other people, it's still more than half my paycheck. I've basically given up on the idea of owning a home, it's just not in the cards right now. Instead I just put together little playlists and save up for a good takeaway once a month, you know? It's not glamorous but it's what we've got.

The biggest thing nobody talks about is how the stuff we're told to do just doesn't add up anymore. Like, get a degree, work hard, save a bit, and you'll be fine... but that math stopped working years ago. I see people in their 30s still renting with roommates, and they did everything right. It's not about being lazy or spending too much on coffee, it's that wages and rent just don't match up.

Hey Priya, you're spot on about the math not adding up. It's like the rulebook changed and nobody told us.
