There's a museum near me that has a section on how ancient humans used body fat distribution for insulation and padding when sitting on cold ground. Always think of that when I'm on a hard bench at a pub or a train seat. Also, I noticed after a long hike, my lower back doesn't ache as much compared to some mates who complain about their tailbone. And honestly, finding jeans that fit well without a belt is a win. My granddad used to wear braces all the time, and I get why now—once the glutes go, trousers just slide down. Glad I've still got some natural belt-holders.

One thing I've noticed is that when I'm lying on my back doing crunches at the gym, it's way more comfortable than for some of the skinny guys who look like they're sitting on a rock. Also, my friends can't sneak up on me easily because, well, there's more... presence back there. 😂

I do a lot of standing while cooking and prepping, and I feel like having a bit more cushion back there helps my hips not ache after an hour at the stove. Plus, when I'm waiting for dough to rise and just leaning against the counter, it's like having a built-in pillow. My beagle likes to rest his head on it when I'm bent over checking the oven, so I guess it's a multi-purpose feature.
