What did you eat and drink to lose weight?

A few favourites from the original thread:
• Someone said the real game-changer was cutting out liquid calories—just sticking to water and coffee made a huge difference.
• Another person swore by a high-fibre, high-protein diet, with a breakfast of oatmeal and chia seeds every day for a year. They also found sparkling water with lime helped curb snacking.

I think the biggest thing for me was just cutting down portion sizes. I still have a pint and some chips with mates at the weekend, but during the week I started having half of what I’d normally pile on my plate. Also swapped my morning biscuit for an apple, sounds daft but it adds up. And honestly, just drinking water instead of fizzy pop or juice saved me loads of empty calories without me even noticing. I didn't go mad with fancy diets or anything, just ate less of the same stuff and moved a bit more. Lost about a stone over a few months, nothing drastic but it stayed off.

Oatmeal with chia seeds every morning, that's a solid move. I did similar but swapped the chia for flaxseed 'cause that's what I had in the cupboard. Also sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon when I got snacky in the evening, really helped. Didn't change much else, just stopped mindlessly eating crisps while gaming and the weight came off pretty steady.
